Determining the concentration of precious metals frequently requires the digestion of rock samples with strong acids. These digested samples are then diluted to lower the metal concentration and pH prior to analysis by Atomic Absorption （AA） or Inductively Coupled Plasma Spectroscopy （ICP）.
